Ensuring the safety of the food supply chain is a high priority here at Cash-Wa Distributing.

Our food safety program is integrated company wide. Heidi Wietjes, MS, RD, LMNT, LD is our food safety coordinator. She is a ServSafeInstructor through the National Restaurant Association. In addition, she is Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified by the International HACCP Alliance and has completed the Food Defense Coordinator class offered by the American Institute of Baking.

Cash-Wa Distributing has a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program in each warehouse.

Product Recalls

In the event of a product recall, Cash-Wa Distributing works with the product manufacturer and government agencies to remove the product from the market place. If you have purchased a product from Cash-Wa Distributing that has been recalled by the manufacturer, you will be contacted by Cash-Wa Distributing with recall details.

AIB Certified

Cash-Wa Distributing’s warehouses are regularly inspected by the USDA, FDA, and state and local health inspectors. In addition, Cash-Wa Distributing consistently scores high on warehouse food safety audits conducted by the American Institute of Baking (AIB).

Recall: Heartland Catfish

CWD has been notified of a recall impacting a limited amount of Heartland Catfish products due to a potential positive test for leucomalachite green in a batch of product dated 2/16/18.

CWD Healthy Update – Oatmeal

Eighty percent of US households have oatmeal in their cupboards. The most popular oatmeal topping is milk. Other popular toppings include: sugar, fruit (raisins & bananas), and butter or margarine. Unusual toppings for oatmeal include eggnog, peanut butter, and cottage cheese.
